FAQs About Coronavirus
IMPORTANT MESSAGE FOR OUR PATIENTS! Written and updated on 8th March 2024
1. If I have cold and flu symptoms, can I visit the medical centre?
“Visits to the medical center for face-to-face consultations are permitted if you test negative for COVID-19. Prior to your visit, we kindly ask that you conduct a COVID Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) at home. In the event of a negative result, you may proceed with your appointment. It is mandatory to wear a face mask throughout your visit to the medical center for the safety and well-being of all.”
2. If I am covid positive, can I visit the medical centre?
If you have tested positive for COVID-19, we kindly request that you refrain from visiting the medical center in person. Instead, we encourage you to book a “phone or video consultation” appointment type. This measure is essential to prevent the spread of COVID-19 and ensure the safety of our patients and healthcare workers. Additionally, we advise you to stay in your own room and wear a mask at home if you need to leave your room, in order to minimise the risk of spreading the virus to your family members.
3. If I have covid like symptoms, can I get tested at the medical centre?
If you are experiencing symptoms suggestive of COVID-19, we recommend conducting a COVID Rapid Antigen Test (RAT) at home initially. However, for select patients, your general practitioner may opt to order COVID swabs through our pathology services. It’s important to note that testing decisions are made at the discretion of our general practitioners, primarily to rule out other infectious causes such as bacterial or whooping cough infection, rather than solely focusing on COVID infection.”
